Restaurant Wine List Wine Country Welcome Centre

At the Toasted Oak Wine Bar & Grill we continue to offer the largest collection of BC wines available to the public at any one restaurant in the province of British Columbia, and according to what we currently know - the largest available restaurant BC wine list in the world!

The fact that our restaurant is winning awards confirms that the wines of British Columbia deserve the exclusive attention we are willing to show them.

Under the capable leadeship of our manager and sommelier - Jay Drysdale - this program has now been knowlingly recognized as the best British Columbia wine list assembled at any one restaurant in the entire Pacific Northwest.

Most recently in the summer of 2006, the much respected WINE SPECTATOR magazine recognized the Toasted Oak Wine Bar & Grill with its AWARD OF EXCELLENCE. For the second year in a row the Toasted Oak Wine Bar and Grill was awarded another AWARD OF EXCELLENCE for its wine list and menu.

About Our Wine Program:

We are pleased to offer our award winning collection of BC wines:

§ by-the-glass,

§ in “wine-flights”,

§ in traditional bottle format.

Our wine library showcases an intriguing collection of exclusively BC wines featuring well over 400 currently listed label selections; spanning - varietals, blends, sparkling wines and icewines.

Our wines are personally selected by our sommelier and are cellared under ideal conditions in our very own vintage cellar which can be viewed on the lower level.

All wines in our vintage cellar are also available to be purchased by-the-glass.

Many people ask if we have a "house wine". With the whole menagerie of British Columbian wine right in our very back yard, we couldn't possibly limit our customers to such a narrow focus. Instead, here at the Toasted Oak we aim to expose our guests to as many different British Columbian wines as possible (both VQA and other). We highlight no favourites, allowing our customers to discover their own! If you are seeking out a special style or flavour however, our trained staff would be happy to assist.

Certain premium vintage wines due to their limited availability will only be released in by-the-glass format at the manager’s discretion.

It is also our pleasure to inform you that we would be delighted to re-cork any part finished bottle of wine you have opened, for your later enjoyment at home. Simply notify your server - we'll take care of the rest!

We ask and encourage all guests dining with us at the facility to take a moment and browse the Vintage Cellar in our lower level. We believe that the wine list speaks to both the depth and complexity that grapegrowers and winemakers in British Columbia are achieving.

The Toasted Oak Wine Bar & Grill's "wines by-the-glass" and the"wine flight" formats are an excellent way in which to experience the many varied tastes of BC wine country in both an informative and affordable manner . Simply enjoyed on their own or married to a selection from our contemporary wine country bistro menu, we are sure you will not be disappointed.

Should you choose to enjoy a bottle of wine at our facility, you will be pleased to know that you will not be obliged to gulp your way through the entire bottle before heading home.

Liquor licensing in British Columbia now allows restaurant guests the civil privilege of taking any part-finished bottle home with them for later enjoyment. In fact, we encourage this practice - so open a couple of favourites, or, discover one or two new BC wines, right here at ground zero in BC wine country!
